Diorio Restaurant & Bar
The legendary history of Diorio Restaurant began in the early 1920’s. Waterbury’s consummate restaurateur, Rocco Diorio, was responsible for the fine traditional food and many lasting memories for the people of Greater Waterbury. The restaurant was closed in 1980, reopening to its original splendor in 1991, after a careful restoration. The Diorio legend continues today, as we remain true to those endearing memories. The restaurant features Diorio’s original marble bar, oversized mahogany bankers’ booths, tin ceiling and the renowned acid etched backbar mirrors, displaying the architectural gems of historic Waterbury. Diorio has once again reclaimed its reputation as Waterbury’s finest restaurant. Today, complementing it’s ambience, memories and rich history, Diorio’s Northern Italian nouvelle cuisine offers a new and exciting dining experience for the adventuresome palate. 231 Bank Street .
